About the job:
This is more than designing product.
You will shape category direction, uplift creative capability, and influence how a passionate global community experiences performance apparel.
You’ll work closely with creative direction, merchandise, athlete testing, sourcing, and product development to deliver product that is engineered for performance, aligned with community needs, and commercially successful in a fast moving market.
You’ll also play a leadership role within your category, coaching junior designers and building alignment across the range through the BEST, WIN, GROW strategy.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design of your product category from concept to production
- Translate creative direction and community insights into compelling design briefs
- Build ranges in partnership with merchandise and creative leadership
- Use athlete testing insights to drive performance improvements
- Mentor junior designers and uplift category capability
- Develop detailed sketches, renderings, tech packs, and specifications
- Attend industry events, trend sessions, and trade shows to source inspiration
- Research materials, trims, and construction methods with performance and sustainability in mind
- Participate in prototype reviews and refine product across aesthetics, fit, and functionality
- Align with sourcing, product development, marketing, and sales across the full product lifecycle
- Stay across industry movement and competitor activity to support strategic design decisions
- Collaborate with graphics teams on colour, print, and visual direction
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as a product designer within performance, active, lifestyle, or sportswear
- Deep knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking fundamentals, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency across CAD tools and PLM systems
- A problem solving mindset grounded in data, testing, and rigorous iteration
- A portfolio that demonstrates both technical execution and category thinking
- Ability to manage complex design cycles and balance innovation with commercial viability
- High attention to detail and a structured approach to product creation
- Adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a high energy, fast paced environment
