PRODUCT DEVELOPER | TECHNICIAN

If you’re an experienced product developer or technician looking to step into a role where your technical expertise and creative eye can make a real impact, this opportunity is for you.

Our client, a globally recognised womenswear brand, is redefining contemporary fashion with bold, distinctive designs and a commitment to purpose. Built from resilience and creativity, the brand has grown from humble beginnings into an international success story – empowering women through design while giving back to communities through mental health and women’s advocacy initiatives

The Role

As a Product Developer / Technician, you’ll be responsible for developing styles from initial design handover through to approval for bulk production. This is a hands-on role that requires sharp technical knowledge, a passion for fit and construction, and strong problem-solving skills.

You’ll partner closely with designers, ensuring each style meets the brand’s aesthetic vision, margin requirements, and production standards. From fittings and spec creation to fabric viability and supplier liaison, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping collections that are distinctive, on-brand, and globally relevant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage development of allocated styles through all stages – from handover to final approval.

  • Create and send accurate technical packs in line with brand standards.

  • Lead fit preparation and fittings, providing clear, comprehensive comments to suppliers.

  • Ensure adherence to the critical path, meeting deadlines and maintaining data accuracy.

  • Source and evaluate fabrics, trims, and construction methods for viability and cost.

  • Approve graded specs, tolerances, and ensure measurement consistency across ranges.

  • Collaborate in workshops on fit, fabric, construction, and costings.

  • Analyse trade reports to assess product performance and feed learnings into development.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members as required.

  • Maintain the block library and ensure samples are organised and stored correctly.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong, highly organised, and thrives in a fast-paced creative environment. You’ll bring:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in product development or technical roles within womenswear.

  • Hands-on experience with fittings, spec creation, grading, and construction.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel (Style Arcade and G-Suite advantageous).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.

  • A problem-solving mindset with sharp attention to detail.

  • A related fashion, technical apparel, or pattern-making qualification (preferred but not essential with solid industry experience).

Why Join Our Client?

This isn’t just a technical role – it’s an opportunity to shape collections for a brand that’s at the forefront of contemporary womenswear. You’ll enjoy:

  • A role where your expertise directly influences product fit, quality, and design integrity.

  • Career progression in a globally recognised and fast-growing brand.

  • A collaborative and high-energy studio culture.

  • The chance to work on trend-setting collections worn around the world.

  • Being part of a business with purpose at its heart, donating 1% of every purchase to mental health and women’s advocacy causes.

  • A stunning Burleigh Heads location – the perfect mix of career and lifestyle.

✨ This is more than a job – it’s a chance to bring world-class product to life while working with a brand that is shaping the future of womenswear.
