An exciting opportunity has become available in Sydney to join a growing, design-led apparel business as a Product Developer & Merchandiser. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role for someone who loves being close to product - from concept and design through to costing, supplier negotiation, and delivery.

The Role
In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of design, product development, and merchandising, ensuring collections are both creatively strong and commercially viable. You’ll manage supplier relationships, negotiate costs, and balance quality, margin, and timelines to deliver successful product ranges.

RESPONSIBILITIES +
- Support and drive end-to-end product development across apparel categories
- Contribute to design development, tech packs, and product specifications
- Work closely with suppliers on sampling, production, and delivery timelines
- Negotiate cost prices, MOQs, and production terms to achieve margin targets
- Source fabrics, trims, and components aligned to quality and brand standards
- Track product development milestones and manage critical paths
- Support merchandising decisions through costing, range balance, and performance insights
REQUIREMENTS +
- 3–5+ years’ experience in product development, technical design, or merchandising within apparel (menswear preferred)
- Strong experience across design, product development, and merchandising
- Proven ability to negotiate cost prices, MOQs, and supplier terms
- Confident communicator able to manage supplier relationships independently
- Solid tech pack experience using Adobe Creative Suite
- Good understanding of pattern making, grading, and garment fit
- Strong knowledge of fabrics and textiles, including knits, wovens, and performance materials
- End-to-end production experience, from sampling through to delivery
- Commercial mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple styles and timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop a plus) and MS Office
