Are you a product development professional with a passion for functional fashion and sun-smart innovation? Our client is Australia’s leading UPF50+ lifestyle brand. We are looking for a passionate Product Developer to join the team on a 12-month contract.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Production & Sourcing, the Product Developer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end development of our apparel, sun hats, and accessories. You will bring concepts to life through technical specifications, supplier coordination, and fit session leadership—ensuring all products meet our high standards of protection, quality, and style.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage product development across multiple categories to meet seasonal timelines

  • Conduct material and fabric testing, maintaining accurate records and corrective actions

  • Lead communication with suppliers to ensure timely approvals and productive outcomes

  • Conduct trend and market research, both locally and internationally

  • Lead fit sessions and approve samples to meet technical requirements

  • Create and manage tech packs, CADs, and sample measurements

  • Coordinate samples for photoshoots as needed

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the brand’s identity

About You

  • 5+ years' experience in apparel product development, ideally in active or outdoor wear

  • Relevant qualification in Design, Product Development, or related field

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office

  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and deadline-driven

  • Excellent interpersonal and supplier relationship management skills

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment

  • Alignment with the companys mission and values
