About the Job:
Reporting to the Product and Sourcing Manager, you will be managing the technical and production aspects of product development, while collaborating with the designers on the creative aspects of the product. You will oversee the end-to-end product development process ensuring that you meet deadlines and standards. In addition, you will act as the primary liaison with supply chain, sourcing and product teams ensuring that the delivery of a well-executed, innovative product aligns with the brand aesthetics and demands of the industry.
About you:
Our ideal candidate is a driven product developer with a solid grasp of garment construction, fabric properties, and production processes. With 1-2 yrs experience under your belt, you’re known for your organisation, accuracy, and cool head under pressure. You thrive in fast-paced, youth-focused fashion environments, balancing technical know-how with a strong understanding of color, fit, trims, and prints. If you’re fluent in Adobe, PLM, and all things fabric and ready to turn bold creative concepts into high-quality product realities this role may be a great fit for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES +
- TECHPACK DEVELOPMENT: Complete, Asist in completing or review the technical specifications (tech packs) for accuracy, ensuring all details, including materials, trims, and construction methods, are suitable for production.
- PLM SYSTEM: Responsible for PLM data management, including style set-up for all styles by creating and maintaining BOM’s, updating style information and changes as necessary.
- COMMUNICATION: Act as the primary point of contact between suppliers, production teams, and designers to ensure that designs are accurately executed and delivered on time, while addressing any issues related to production feasibility.
- Co Ordinate Fit Sessions with Garment Tech and Designer. Ensure all sample comments and approvals are clearly communicated to suppliers.
- SAMPLES: Order, request, monitor, track, and initiate follow-up for all required sampling each season.
- Manage the development tracker with sample delivery dates and initiate follow-up as required.
- Manage and process the development of garments and accessories from design to delivery of production, focusing on technical specifications to ensure manufacturability.
- Oversee the technical development of garments and accessories, collaborating with designers to ensure that the design intent is accurately translated into functional, profitable and manufacturable products- Sample to Bulk Production
- Support Product Co Ordinator by communicating sample comments and arrival dates
- Be flexible and adapt to taking on multiple tasks and support duties to ensure the accuracy of seasonal product ranges.
- Understand FOB targets, lead times, and supplier capabilities
REQUIREMENTS +
- Sound knowledge of the fashion and fabric industry.
- Team member with strong work ethics, flexibility, and supportiveness.
- Understanding of graphic art, colors, fabrics, trim, and fit.
- Strong understanding of the technical aspects of garment production, including construction, fabric properties, and fitting. Designers will provide the creative direction, while the PD role focuses on turning that vision into a production reality.
- Knowledge and experience with garment and accessories construction.
- Experience working with different types of fabrics, washes, and print techniques.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Time management and prioritization skills to complete tasks within limited timeframes.
- Ability to multitask and produce consistent, optimum performance during pressure work periods.
- Computer skills - Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office 365, AS400, PLM.
- Experience in action sports or youth-orientated fashion businesses would be preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role – Youth fashion / Surf and Skate ideal but not essential.
