Sheridan’s Recycling Revolution: Transforming Old Linen into New Beginnings
The Initiative
In 2019, Sheridan launched its groundbreaking Recycling Program to tackle the growing issue of textile waste. As the first Australian homewares brand to offer a nationwide linen recycling service,
Sheridan has partnered with BlockTexx® to ensure pre-loved towels and bed linens are repurposed into valuable raw materials.
The Problem
By 2030, over 140 million tonnes of textiles are projected to end up in landfills globally, with Australia contributing nearly one million tonnes per year. Sheridan's Recycling Program directly addresses this environmental issue.
The Solution
Sheridan collaborates with BlockTexx® to recycle textiles through the innovative S.O.F.T. ™ (Separation of Fibre Technology) process, transforming them into high-grade raw materials used in industries like textiles and agriculture.
Recycling happens at BlockTexx®’s facility in Queensland, ensuring the process is entirely local, reducing the carbon footprint, and supporting Australia’s recycling efforts.
How Can You Participate?
Simple Process: The program follows a 3-step system: Return (drop off in-store) Recycle (sent to BlockTexx®) Renew (transformed into new products).
Sheridan accepts pre-loved sheets, quilt covers, pillowcases, and towels from any brand, not just Sheridan. Customers only need to wash the items before dropping them off at a Sheridan Boutique or Outlet store.
Rewards for Recycling:
Customers receive a 5% discount on purchases over $100 as a thank-you for participating in the program.
