Charlotte Liebling looked at that pile of discarded fluff and saw potential and hope. She created something magical: a real-life Toy Story called Loved Before, a soft toy adoption agency giving old teddies a second chance at love 💛

What’s This All About?

The Problem

Charity shops are overwhelmed.
They receive thousands of soft toys…

Most of which are:

  • Too worn

  • Too quirky

  • Or simply too many to resell

So where do they end up?

Landfill.
Or worse—incinerators.

And with them go the memories and magic they once held.

Every year, 8 million stuffed animals are thrown away.
That’s:

  • 8 million stories lost

  • 8 million cuddle buddies forgotten

  • 8 million missed chances for sustainability

The Turning Point

Founder Emily noticed this while volunteering at a charity shop.

Watching beloved teddies tossed out or handed to dogs broke her heart.

That’s when the idea hit her:

What if there was a way to rehome them instead?
