Our client is a premium womenswear fashion brand with a strong global presence and a loyal, style-conscious customer base. Renowned for their contemporary yet edgy aesthetic, they consistently push the boundaries of modern design while maintaining a refined, wearable appeal. With a highly considered approach to retail, every touchpoint of the customer experience is thoughtfully curated - from elevated in-store environments to seamless digital engagement - ensuring the brand remains both aspirational and accessible.

The Head of Retail is responsible for driving the overall performance, profitability, and operational standards of the retail network. Partnering closely with leadership, this role executes retail strategy while building and developing high-performing store teams. With a strong focus on sales growth, customer experience, and operational consistency, you will oversee national targets, performance management, and team capability. A key part of the role is strengthening leadership pipelines, ensuring succession planning, and maintaining consistent execution across all stores, while proactively managing risk, addressing underperformance, and supporting long-term, sustainable growth.

Location: Sydney, with 1-2 interstate travels per quarter

Salary: $140k-$170k + super + performance-based bonus

RESPONSIBILITIES +

  • Retail Operations & Compliance: Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, policies, VM, and operational processes across all stores, while maintaining compliance, stock integrity, and cost control.
  • Customer Experience: Champion a premium, service-led culture that drives loyalty, repeat business, and effective resolution of customer issues.
  • Leadership & Performance: Lead and develop Store Managers to build a high-performance culture, manage underperformance, and drive accountability across the network.
  • Learning & Development: Design and deliver training strategies that strengthen capability, support leadership growth, and align with business objectives.
  • Financial & Commercial Management: Own budgets and performance, monitoring sales, wages, and expenses to optimise productivity and profitability.
  • Accountability & KPIs: Deliver against national sales and operational targets while maintaining strong team engagement, leadership development, and consistent store performance metrics.

REQUIREMENTS +

  • Proven experience as a National Retail Manager, with several years operating at this level
  • Background within a similar premium womenswear fashion brand
  • Strong commercial mindset with a focus on operational excellence
  • Confident leader with the ability to coach, inspire, and drive accountability
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with flexibility to travel nationally (driver’s licence and own vehicle required)
