With BIG growth plans ahead. We are looking for a passionate & experienced Garment Technicians to work within our Design & Production team, along with 2 other Garment techs! With extensive experience of garment construction, patterns, & fittings; you will contribute to executing incredible premium quality products across a wide variety of women's apparel categories. The role involves working closely with Design Lead, Product Developer/s & Buyer.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Working closely with the Design & Production team to transition from initial concepts through to final sample, reporting directly into the Production Manager.
Creating Garment spec sheets & applying the grading rules.
Measuring garments & commenting on manufacturing finishes for all sampling.
Conduct fit meetings & communication of comments to off-shore factories.
Solving construction problems throughout the sample stage.
Liaising daily with suppliers, in regards to re-fits, fabrics, finishes & grading.
Conducting QC of PP samples, & Bulk samples.
Constant communication with the Design Lead, Product Developer, & Production Coordinator to plan/ execute sample development, whilst keeping on-track with timelines & critical paths.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
3+ years experience in a similar role.
Experience in Women’s Fashion & Activewear is highly desirable.
Experience working across a variety of categories is essential.
Tertiary education in Design, Pattern making & Grading is desirable.
A genuine awareness of trends and the ability to incorporate this into fit sessions.
Strong skills in Excel & Illustrator (Or ability to visually communicate detailed annotations).
Experience in Tech packing, Garment spec, Pattern making, & Grading is essential.
In-depth knowledge and experience in fabric testing, textile properties and quality assurance.
Ability to anticipate construction problems & provide suitable solutions.
Strong communication skills with both international suppliers & internal departments.
Strong organisational skills to adhere to critical path deadlines.
