FASHION: SENIOR MERCHANDISE MANAGER – UNDENIABLE CHARACTER(ADL)

A fantastic opportunity exists for a Senior Merchandise Manager to join this renowned Australian heritage label. 

The position is responsible for the art and science of merchandising from both a global/regional perspective business unit, channel and product category perspective.

You will help lead the creation, improvement and growth of the Footwear, Leather Goods and Apparel goods.  Working closely with cross functional team of commercial team, design, product development, marketing and planning.   And functioning as the pivot to an integrated creative hub of Merchandising, Product Development and Design team.

Define Strategies and subsequent product requirements based on facts and translated to the marketing place environment and consumer.

Supporting the GM of Product, you will help define the vision and strategy and manage end to end product development lifecycle.

You will develop a strong understanding of consumer needs and perform in depth data analyses to help inform future product decisions.

These will include but not be limited to determining and defining the Global menu with regional affinities and channel optimization, strategy input document, overall story-telling, system management, go to market planning, option efficiency and productivity, life cycle management of a full product line: core and seasonal, men and women, managing the category end to end.

 

You key responsibilities in this position would include:

 

  • People Management:  Lead a merchandising team of 2
  • Product life cycle management:  lead the end to end life-cycle of shipping innovative product from ideation to launch.  Strategize and execute.  Understand lifecycle management of core and seasonal product.  Manage the foundation and ensure we have space for the seasonal new news and innovation.
  • Product stories:  Develop and deliver seasonal decks with consumer driven product specifications and descriptions that balance emotion and rational input
  • Analytics:  Define Product KPI’s and perform complex analyses to drive product insights and data-driven product decisions.
  • Product Roadmap definition:  Collaborate with GM of Product to develop from short term to long term category/product roadmaps based on business targets, in-depth analysis and clear understanding of brand and consumer
  • Consumer Insights:  Lead consumer and customer insights as it relates to product feedback, also callout longer term implications of feedback
  • Assortment Strategies:  Direct Assortment creation for channels, tiers of distribution and refinement, ID longer term implications and needs
  • Plan creation with GM product
  • Channel, market and financial analytics with regional leads
  • Team voice in 1 – 2 years strategic planning

 

Experience / Requirements

  • Bachelor degree with +10 Years of industry experience preferably in either apparel or Footwear or Accessories particularly in Merchandising
  • Keen eye for product and awareness of Apparel, Footwear and Craft trends and landscape: with specific focus on leather goods
  • Experience with Product Planning.  Understanding principles of sales forecasting and working to OTB budgets
  • Knowledge of channel segmentation range architecture, product assortments, concept drivers and product flow
  • Leadership skills with ability to influence.  Demonstrate the capability to drive end to end with respect for the GTM and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the desire to build lasting relationships internally and with our customer base
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are Quintessential
  • Superior organizational & communication skills, especially in presentation skills
  • Computer skills including advanced Excel
  • Travel required
