FASHION Head of Design– International Womenswear Label (ADE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Designer / Brand Manager to join an Adelaide based International Fast Fashion Company.


Reporting into the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the company’s brand and Design Team.  The successful candidate will work closely with other departments to optimize the overall performance of the brand whilst simultaneously managing the development process.


Main Responsibilities:


Fashion Design

  • Researching, trend forecasting and mood board creation;
  • Concepting each monthly range in line with brand’s voice and cohesive to prior / future collections;
  • Creating and producing designs by hand or using CAD;
  • Reviewing tech packs prior to submission as required;

Fitting & Production

  • Working with Design Support to allocate all styles to vendors;
  • Working with Garment Tech to fit all monthly ranges – first sampling all revisions (M-GT1. S4);
  • Handing over to your Design Team to maintain and update tech packs to reflect changes throughout the fittings process;

Sales & Reporting

  • Supporting your team to create style numbers in GLASS, Range and Costing Master Sheets and Line Sheets;
  • Maintaining style data integrity in tech packs and GLASS as well as style number allocations;
  • Signing off fit notes for BNKR Online and sales tools;
  • Present monthly range video for wholesale;

Creative Production / Brand and Marketing

  • Working closely with the Design Team to facilitate the entire development process, with the support of our Design Support Team and Creative Director;
  • Maintaining an overall comprehension of PDRP and other design processes, to best ensure adherence to the production timeline;
  • Working with Creative Department to develop look book concepts for backdrops for monthly ranges;
  • Working with Creative Department to select models best suited to monthly ranges, with consideration for budget;
  • Working with Head Stylist on product and accessory styling for monthly ranges;
  • Working with Head HMU Artist on hair and make-up concepts for monthly ranges;

Design Team Management

  • Working with Design Support Team to manage your Design Team’s workflow and allocation of tasks in order to prioritise workload and meet key deadlines and milestones;
  • Problem solving issues and juggling priorities to ensure solutions are implemented where necessary;
  • Mentoring and training your Design Team, providing constructive feedback, support and performance review management;
  • Assisting with our Fashion Design internship program, liaising with People & Culture, mentoring interns, introducing them to your Design Team, managing their workload and providing constructive feedback;


Key Requirements:

  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Affinity with fashion, an instinct for style and an eye for aesthetics.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and passionate.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and continually meet tight deadlines
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion or Textile Design.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience in Fashion Design.
  • Experience in a team management position.
  • Experience using design programs such as CAD, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Mac literacy
