Our client is looking for a textile designer to join the 4-5 strong team. They work within their core values or honesty, growth, and FUN! The team is vibrant, energetic, and social. They are like a family, and we are busy. They help each other out if needed and don’t mind getting their hands dirty if needed.

Work in a new custom-built studio with high end finishes, Italian marble, terrazzo, full-service kitchen located approximately 20 mins from Sydney CBD. Free parking and public transport (direct from Sydney CBD 15 mins). New stand/sit down desks and 27.5-inch Mac’s.

RESPONSIBILITIES +

  • Work closely with the Design team to develop tappeti design collections and ensure a collaborative approach to design
  • execute original works and ideas, balancing efficiency, and creativity
  • identify key trends and/or new designs and new textile manufacturing techniques to offer the marketplace
  • liaise with sales team to ensure project briefs are complete and accurate and assist with developing presentations as required
  • accurately document designs for clients and manufacture, ensuring colour references and scales are correct
  • ensure designs are completed within given timeframes and budgets, in line with project briefs quality control
  • review all feedback on quality
  • be aware of manufacturing issues and implement/manage strategies to cope with new and existing challenges
  • ensure tappeti brand guidelines are adhered to and the company’s vision is maintained
  • maintain brand aesthetic across all touch points
  • ensure only the highest quality of service and product is provided to all clients, in line with project briefs Administration
  • complete ad hoc administrative duties as and when required
  • work collaboratively with the design team and Managing Director to ensure projects are managed effectively and to deadline teamwork & compliance
  • work cooperatively and proactively as a team member

REQUIREMENTS +

  • tertiary qualifications in design
  • excellent Illustrator skills
  • ability to create and read scale drawings (training provided)
  • ability to take a project from start to finish – from concept to completion
  • superior organizational and prioritization skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to anticipate potential problems and provide proactive solutions
  • flexible, adaptable, and responsive to challenging and changing situations
